Hi Everyone and welcome back.
Welcome back my brothers and sisters and everyone in between. The Closet Project is back.
My predecessor could not have said it better, so go read their post if you haven't already
It has been too long since your voices have been here, and we are here now to listen to you speak. Our intention is to have a space for everyone on the LGBTQ spectrum to have an outlet to express themselves, and this may be especially helpful for those who are not comfortable yet identifying themselves or attending PRIDE. Closeted individuals struggle so often with the loneliness of hiding yourself away, and I just want to let you know that you are not alone. As the wonderful Andrea Gibson so eloquently put it, "I have been told sometimes the most healing thing we can do is remind ourselves over and over and over other people feel this too."
Let us come together because other people feel this too. So EVERYONE, share your stories, start various discussions, and spill your hearts out.
We will also now have a counselor assisting to moderate the forum, and you are welcome to ask specific questions to him in the “Ask a Counselor” topic. However, please do not post any urgent concerns or questions since we may not be able to respond to your message quickly. We have listed emergency and additional support resources in the Resources section, so feel free to check that out!
As with our last admin, I too will never ask you to reveal your identity or anything that would hint at your identity. However, now that we have a wonderful counselor with us, helpinghandusd might reach out to your in their role as a counselor. Rest assured, everything is anonymous and just know that we are all friends here. We as your moderators may sparingly reach out to you via private message to share additional thoughts or resources, but rest assured that your identity is still anonymous.
PS. We do also reserve the right to ban anyone who is spewing mean things.
Your moderator.
