Hi everyone!
As is mentioned elsewhere, The Closet Project is not a good place to post urgent concerns if you are in a state of crisis. The Closet Project is moderated by volunteers who may not be able to respond quickly to posts. If you are experiencing any urgent concerns and need to speak with someone immediately, we encourage you to utilize the following resources:
USD Public Safety:
619-260-7777
USD Counselor On Call:
USD always has a psychologist on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week who is happy to confidentially consult with you if you are experiencing a crisis. You can reach the counselor on call by calling Public Safety at 619-260-7777 and requesting to speak to the Counselor-on-Call. The USD counselors are all well trained and knowledgeable around a wide variety of issues, including LGBTQ concerns.
The Trevor Project Crisis Hotline:
866-488-7386
This hotline is a confidential, LGBTQ specific crisis hotline staffed by trained counselors that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can also ask for help on TrevorChat or TrevorText through this website: www.thetrevorproject.org/pages/get-help-now
Access Crisis Hotline (for suicidal emergency):
888-724-7240
Here you can speak with a non-USD affiliated counselor who can provide assistance. Confidential and free of charge, the line is immediately answered 7 days a week, 24 hours a day by Master's-level and Licensed Clinicians. The counselors average 16 years of clinical experience.
For any life-threatening emergencies, please call 911 or go to your closest emergency room.
